Our Principal, Eric Simpson

Born and raised in Ashland, Oregon, Eric graduated from Southern Oregon University (at the time, S.O.C.). Eric began landscaping to supplement college tuition. Through college & slightly beyond, he tried a variety of occupations but began to acquire a love of landscaping which turned into passion and inspired him to start his own business. He passed the (quite rigorous at the time) barrage of State Testing, providing Eric with the preeminent State Landscape License available. Through the years, Eric has designed and built hundreds of landscapes, predominately in the Rogue Valley. He resides with his life partner, confidant and best friend Pam, who works in administration at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Together they enjoy mountain biking, paddle sports, hiking, traveling, family, their two dogs and a solid healthy lifestyle. Eric immensely enjoys listening to Prem Rawat and often attends his speaking engagements. Eric credits Rawat for helping him recognize that the love within and the appreciation for the gift of life itself are his life priorities.

Our Philosophy

When Eric Simpson Landscaping was founded in 1997, he had four basic principles: offer peace of mind, provide a loving home atmosphere, be affordable, and be FUN! This philosophy still underlies all of Eric’s projects.

In recent years, however, Eric has become acutely attuned to water conservation issues in the Rogue Valley. Southwestern Oregon, like many areas of the Pacific Northwest, has experienced exceptionally dry periods over the past several years, and all indications are that this trend is only compounding. Eric’s philosophy embraces the belief that water conservation concerns are important, not only during times of water shortage, but always; they should be routinely integrated into all landscaping plans and practices.
